The company "Velmart" ltd. was established in Varazdin at the beginning of year 1991. The main activity of the company was the wholesale of rawhides. From the very beginning our goal was to develop a good, long-term business relations with Croatian slaughterhouses and processors of meat and meat products, of which today we buy rawhides (mostly bull, calf and cow hides).
Until mid-1998 the company has operated in rented premises in several locations, but then company moved into its own premises in Varazdin, Cehovska 11, where companies management and warehouse is situated till today.
At the end of year 2005 the company expanded its warehouse and built new administrative facilities.
In mid-2008 "Velmart" started to develop a new business plan which included processing of rawhides into wet-blue. Since then company is registered for tanning. Currently "Velmart" uses the services of tanning from other tanneries. Our own rawhides are processed into wet blue, crust and finished leather. They are offered to known and new potential customers at domestic and foreign market.
The company Velmart d.o.o. (Velmart Ltd.) has 11 employees. For the time being it employs capacities of other leather industries, but the aim of the company is to have its own plant for skin tanning, from raw hide to wet blue.
Besides raw hide and wet blue, which are of primary interest of the company, we also offer finished leather intended for footwear and accessories, but there is a possibility of producing leather for other purposes.
